Gabriel's grown in overall confidence since working with Danelle. Her work with him has had a direct positive effect on his behavior and concentration. At our home sessions, Danelle brings projects that increase color sense, familiarity with art material, and varies the projects enough so that Gabriel is involved with art concepts in an experiential way, such as texture, form, composition, overlap, repetition, negative and positive space. etc. Danelle helped advocate for Gabriel at public school for Gabriel to have in individual, self-directed daily art time at school right after lunch. His focus, energy, and motivation showed significant increase for other school work after that time. Prior to the art time, we were looking at possibly increasing his medication. The art time intervened in a much better way for him. Kari Lindholm-Johnson |
